Lakemba railway station is a railway station on the Sydney Trains T3 Bankstown Line, located in the Sydney suburb of Lakemba.Platforms and servicesAs of the new Sydney Trains timetables on Sunday the 20th of October 2013: on weekdays the station is served by four trains per hour in each direction for most of the day, with additional trains provided during peak hours; and on weekends the station is served by four trains per hour in each direction for most of the day.Lakemba has an island platform. Previously a shunting neck existed to the west of the station allowing services to terminate at Lakemba. This was removed in the 1990s.AccessThe original wooden ticket office above the station was demolished after it was heavily damaged by fire and replaced by a modern metal and glass structure. The station was subject to an 'Easy Access upgrade' in 2006, installing two elevators for less mobile patrons to get from the street to the top of the station, and an elevator in the middle which brings patrons down to the island platform.
